Development and use of a computerized system to track the competency development of family medicine residents: analysis of the convergence between system proposals and assessor decisions

Abstract In recent decades, a number of training environments have moved toward program approaches targeting the development competencies. Because their complexity, monitoring those competencies is considerable challenge. Our hypothesis that computerized system could help overcome this challenge if it well accepted by its users. We first summarize context surrounding implementation such approaches. Next, we present assessment established in Family Medicine Residency Program Laval University (Québec, Canada) developed for tracking residents’ then analysis interactions between and users various proposals were made to improve longitudinal targeted consider research provides useful guidelines learners' design systems.
